When Chef John Kraus’ bakery opened its doors at the corner of Grand Avenue and 46th Street this past July, there was a line out the door. Patrons must have heard about the prestigious pastry baker—he’s twice been named a top pastry chef in the country by Pastry Art and Design Magazine—and just couldn’t wait to see what he had to offer. Serving up unique breads, called La Miche, croissants of several varieties, desserts like cakes and cookies, coffee drinks and gelato, Patisserie 46 is quite the addition to the Minneapolis neighborhood. Even though Patisserie’s been open a few months, you may still find a line on Saturday and Sunday mornings; however, it’s definitely worth the wait.
