Free Museums

Free First Thursdays happen every first Thursday of the month at the Seattle Art Museum when visitors can view a plethora of works from SAM collections and installations on the house. The Living Computers: Museum + Labs computer and technology museum in the SoDo neighborhood will also be free later that evening from 5-8 pm. Check out their interactive computers and tech-centric exhibits such as robotics, augmented reality, artificial intelligence and much more. For museums and places that grant free admission any day of the week, the Frye Art Museum, Coast Guard Museum of the Northwest, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center and Pacific Bonsai Museum can all be explored.

Seattle Public Library- The architecture alone is a sight to see. Inside you'll find mountains of books you can skim and free technology and creative writing classes.

Olympic Structure Park- A number of large structure pieces of art are scattered throughout the waterfront park, with breathtaking views in the background.

Hiram M. Chittenden Ballard Locks- Also known as the Ballard Locks, this popular spot provides a world-class botanical garden, educates visitors about the area’s salmon at the Fish Ladder and provides free scheduled tours.
