Bar Hopping

Linda Derschang is the queen of Seattle’s bar scene—she’s the owner or part owner of several of the city’s most well-known restaurants, watering holes and clubs. Capitol Hill is home to a handful of her most popular locales. Linda’s Tavern (707 E Pine St, 206.325.1220), the official tavern of the Northwest, is known for its cans of cheap beer and eye-catching taxidermy. Oddfellows Café + Bar (1525 10th Ave., 206.325.0807) serves seasonal rustic fare and classic cocktails in a cozy and inviting space, and Smith (332 15th Ave E, 206.709.1900), with its unique beer selection and welcoming booths, is a neighborhood favorite. Linda’s latest venture is Bait Shop (606 Broadway E, 206.420.8742)—a nautical-themed bar and restaurant with simple food, and frozen cocktails like The Painkiller (a mixture of rum, pineapple, coconut, nutmeg and orange). Hit up one (or more) of her spots on the Hill tonight!
