Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular
Catch the biggest fireworks display in Sonoma County at the Weill Hall and Lawn this Independence Day. Sonoma County’s own Transcendence Theatre Company, and the Santa Rosa Symphony will be providing an evening full of dynamite show tunes and American classics. Live from Here with Chris Thile is an exciting Saturday night event that will leave you sore from laughter and grinning from ear to ear. Acclaimed musician and songwriter Chris Thile welcomes a variety of well-known and up-and-coming talent to share the stage and create an unforgettable experience. Quickly becoming a well-known tradition in Sonoma County, the Bluegrass Festival brings in a wealth of talented artists to Rohnert Park. Familiar names return this year in acoustic pioneer and innovator David Grisman along with fellow members of The Dawg Trio, Sam Grisman and Danny Barnes. Their signature mix of bluegrass, gypsy jazz, Latin rhythms, and klezmer music originated into a holistic approach they call “dawg music.” Joining them this festival is the Grammy Award-winning Steep Canyon Rangers and the esteemed singer-songwriter Alela Diane. 4th Annual Craft Beer Fest
Pair the Bluegrass Festival with the Green Music Center's 4th Annual Craft Beer Fest on the same day. Featuring unlimited tastings of stellar brews, this year’s Craft Beer Fest showcases more than 20 breweries and cider makers. This includes presenting partner Lagunitas, Russian River Brewing, Plow Brewing, Cooperage, Barrel Brothers and Moonlight to name a few. Sally Tomatoes, Mountain Mike’s, Yanni’s Sausages, and Bohemian Creamery will also be on hand to provide free food to patrons and live music will be provided by Fog Holler. Soak up the sun and suds early in the day and end it with the sweet sounds of bluegrass to make this a well deserved day of fun. Double Vision Revisited
Bob James is a jazz legend and his career continues to define the genre and its direction. His 1980s collaboration with fellow jazz icons David Sanborn and Marcus Miller, Double Vision, dominated airwaves and even earned a Grammy Award. This will be the first time these three reunite since the album's release so you don't want to miss this rare opportunity. Before the show, Truly spiked seltzer waters, Angry Orchard cider, Sam Adams beer and Seghesio wines will all be available for tasting on the Prelude Wedding Lawn until show time. Outlaws & Renegades Tour
Southern rock-influenced Travis Tritt continues to sell-out shows and appeals to country music fans around the world. He's considered to be a part of the early 90s class of country superstars that includes Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Alan Jackson. He'll be joined by the Charlie Daniel's Band that was formed by the Country Music Hall of Famer Charlie Daniels himself. The band introduced southern-rock sounds into mainstream country music with hits such as "Uneasy Rider," and "Simple Man." These legendary artists will be joined by up-and-comers, Love and Theft. With smash hits like "Angel Eyes" and "Runnin' Out of Air," this Nashville-based duo of Eric Gunderson and Stephen Barker Liles is quickly becoming a household name. The Green Music Center’s Summer at the Green 2019 comprises 12 performances at Weill Hall + Lawn, spanning the genres from pop and country, to jazz, bluegrass, R&B and more.
Green Music Center Executive Director Jacob Yarrow reflects, “Summer at the Green is always a unique experience, and this year may be our most exciting summer to date. The great musicians will combine with the beauty of Sonoma County for unforgettable concerts. We’re thrilled share this exciting summer of music, and to bring our region together through the shared joy of live performance.”
The Green Music Center is the performing arts presenter at Sonoma State University. During Summer months the rear wall of the 1,400-seat Weill Hall is fully opened to reveal the beautifully landscaped and terraced Weill Lawn. Seating is available both inside Weill Hall, and outdoors in table and lawn seating, taking full advantage of unparalleled views of the Sonoma mountains. Lawn patrons are encouraged to bring blankets and low-back folding chairs and to pack a picnic or enjoy on-site concessions during the concert.
For all summer performances, lawn tickets are $25 to the general public, and $12.50 for children ages 2-12.
