Photo of the Week: Whistler Village, British Columbia

A melt day off the slopes in Whistler's village provides respite for exhausted quads and a chance to refuel before tackling the slopes again.

The lone snowboarder walking down a path in the village at Whistler, in British, Columbia, stands out amid the shopping and passersby frequenting the restaurants; submitted by user mack-doyle. Whistler in Canada's British Columbia, is accessible from Seattle by car (220 miles), or by flying into Vancouver and renting a car (137 km). The Whistler area (and adjacent ski area Blackcomb) boasts impressive winter snowfalls that attract skiers and snowboarders, but the mountain turns into a hiking and a mountain biking destination in the summer. It's always a destination for luxury and adventure travel, best coupled with a visit to the city of Vancouver.
