In the very chic Le Bon Marché department store, on the Left Bank of the city, discover a world under the poetic rain courtesy of Studio Nendo. From the 11th of January to the 16th of February, the Japanese design studio, founded by Oki Sato, will be sprinkling the department store with interactive installations, all celebrating rain, In the heart of the store, under its famous glass roof, watch as raindrops transform into blooming flowers as they fall from the roof before climbing back up again, turning once again into water. Another installation is found on the second floor where shoppers are invited to stand under an umbrella and watch an artistic projection.
From the 21st of December through to the 25th of January, Espace Richaud in Versailles is hosting Ciné en Briques L'Expo Lego, an art exhibition unlike any other, celebrating cinema blockbusters and the art of building with Lego. Star Wars, Harry Potter and Indiana Jones are all being created using the popular building blocks with the Eiffel Tower being the centre piece of the show.
Another show starting on the 21st of December is Confess at Château La Coste. Artist Trina Mckillen shines the spotlight on the controversial abuse in the Catholic church with art installations set in the gorgeous hotel in Provence. Her life-seize glass confessional, Bless Me Child For I Have Sinned, alongside First Holy Communion dresses will be exhibited through to the 15th of March.
