Madison Square Garden (Seventh Ave., btw W. 31st & W. 33rd sts., 212.465.6741) just got a $1 billion renovation—and with all the new amenities, things are coming up roses for the sports and concert venue. Construction was underway for three years (taking place during off-season for the New York Rangers and Knicks, of course), resulting in an array of new features, including a viewing platform above the arena, specialty food vendors (offering everything from tacos to barbecue) and memorabilia displays (think: Wayne Gretzky’s vintage locker). To feed the public’s ever-increasing appetite for spectacle, 1,000 more arena seats have been installed. Even in winter, some gardens can flower.
