Ask the Expert: Top Attractions in SoHo

Midtown Manhattan may be full of attractions, but there's also plenty to see south of 14th Street. Eric Valencia of Trump Soho New York shares his top spots.

Sure, there are plenty of larger-than-life attractions in Midtown, but there’s something to be said about the bounty of interesting spots tucked away below 14th Street. Here, Eric Valencia, senior concierge at Trump SoHo New York (246 Spring St., 212.842.5500), suggests a few to check out now (and later this summer).

Folks who want to see and be seen during the warmer months should head to Trump SoHo New York’s Bar d'Eau, which, along with the hotel’s pool, will open for the season May 15. Located on the 7th floor, Bar d'Eau is open to the public and serves as a prime locale for anyone who wants to enjoy delectable cuisine and creative cocktails. The pool is open to hotel guests.

Before (or after) heading to Bar d’Eau, locals and visitors with an affinity for luxe accessories that are sure to turn heads should make the trip to David Yurman Soho. “The SoHo boutique exhibits its art and history in an environment of casual luxury,” Valencia says. “From an elegant salon housing the Wedding Collection to an innovative space for men’s designs, the SoHo boutique presents the breadth of the David Yurman collections.”

It’s never too early to start thinking about Fourth of July plans, and those in the Big Apple this summer should opt for the bash atop STK Meatpacking District, where its rooftop will host a festive affair featuring drinks and dinner specials, plus a DJ spinning wicked beats. Reservations are required.
