June is Pride month. It marks the beginning of events, festivals, and parades. But, more importantly, it is when all LGBTQIA+ identities and allies collectively unite to celebrate diversity, justice, and equality as a community.
With 2020 being the 50th anniversary of the first Pride March, celebrations were expected to be huge. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, changed the way members of the LGBTQIA+ community celebrated last year, forcing all in-person events to be canceled.
Vegas Pride is Alive
On June 1st, capacity limits for establishments were removed in Nevada, and mask mandates lifted. We asked Pride Board President, Brady McGill, what we should expect for this month’s activities. “We are SO EXCITED for Las Vegas PRIDE 2021 – themed as “Together Again!” For 2021 events, we are partnering closely with local, State, Federal health and wellness agencies to ensure we have welcoming, fun, and above all – safe – events. While June events in 2021 have scaled back, we are looking forward to minimal impacts/restrictions for our October events and onward. We encourage everyone to seek expert medical opinions when planning vaccinations, risk reduction behaviors, including social distancing and masks, and we will require those who feel unwell or have a fever to stay home and celebrate with other online content that we will produce in conjunction with our live in-person events!”
Las Vegas’ longest-running LGBTQ+ pool party is back for its 11th season at the North Pool at Luxor Hotel and Casino. Enjoy fun themed parties, weekly drink specials, and a series of guest DJs spinning the hottest mixes for the summer at Temptation Sundays. This event is open every Sunday and hosted by J. Son, the personality behind Vegas Gay Pool Party. Reservations are required.

Grape Expectations School of Winemaking
Grape Expectations School of Winemaking, a private-client winery, will offer $100 off a Private Winemaking Barrel Experience if purchased in June here. Use the code PRIDE at checkout. This special is available for the 2021 California Winemaking Season. A barrel experience includes four sessions over nine months to produce 240 bottles (or 20 cases) of a Red Wine of your choice.
