Parks and Picnics

If you are looking for relaxing or perhaps educational places to spend your weekends, parks are a great option to consider in Las Vegas. While many people never notice, Las Vegas is home to numerous parks and recreation areas in every part of the valley. Many showcase beautiful trails and amenities, while others highlight the history of Nevada. Parks allow you to interact with nature, breathe in some fresh air, get away from crowded malls and get some exercise. They are also the perfect place for an outdoor meal with friends or family.

Springs Preserve

Springs Preserve has a wonderful combination of both indoor and outdoor activities to keep you entertained for the entire day. It is owned and operated by the Las Vegas Valley Water District. Springs Preserve houses interactive museums and an award-winning botanical garden. If you’re in search of great education opportunities for children, Springs Preserve should definitely be at the very top of your list. Take a leisurely stroll with family or friends on the nearly 3.5 miles of picturesque trails. You will have the opportunity to see desert wetlands and cottonwood groves along the way, all while doing some bird watching. Springs Preserve does not allow outside food or beverages; however, there is an onsite cafe, so you can leave all of your baskets and coolers at home!
