The days of social distancing have meant that bookstores have had to cancel in-person events such as author appearances and book clubs. Writing Workshops Dallas and Gemini Ink have something to say about that. They're taking to Zoom in a big way for The Big Texas Read, a virtual book club that meets April 29, May 13, May 27 and June 10 at 7 pm CST to discuss works of prose and poetry from Texas authors.
Participation in the meet-ups is free, and you can order the books you need from partner bookstores to have them delivered right to your front stoop. And, you don't even have to get out of your jammies to join in! RSVP here.
Partner bookstores include Dallas' Interabang Books and San Antonio's The Twig Book Shop. For additional independent favorites that are open for online ordering in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio, refer to our list below.
And to keep up on all literary events through Texas, consult Lone Star Literary Life.
