Discover Charleston

Homes Sweet Homes

Have you found yourself stopping on the sidewalk to peek beyond a wrought-iron gate for a glimpse at the gorgeous home and lush garden just beyond and thought, “I wonder what it’s like inside there?” Well, for one month this fall you can find out firsthand what the most elite historic homes and gardens look like from the inside during the annual Preservation Society of Charleston’s Fall Homes and Gardens Tour. During this once-a-year event, generous property owners open their doors and garden gates to the public to admire on a series of guided tours that take you through the homes that line Legare Street, Queen Street, Montagu Street, Meeting Street, Charlotte Street, Rutledge Avenue, Broad Street, Anson Street, The Battery, and more. Individual street tours are $45 each, or weekend passes can be purchased for $120.
