This musical city is chock-full of sing-it-yourself joints that up the ante with everything from a live heavy metal band to an organ player to an adoring crowd. Take your pick from our favorite stops.

Mary's

This is one of the most popular bars in Atlanta thanks to its no-holds-barred dedication to outrageous fun. The gay scene is popping, but you'll find every shape, color, size and sexual orientation getting down to good music. Repeatedly named the city's best, karaoke is on Tuesdays and Saturdays. 21 and over at all times.

Known for its community rock 'n' roll scene, this bar is the perfect place to watch Atlanta’s rock talent perform. There’s also a great jukebox and even a shrine in the front dedicated to Elvis. Call for a schedule.
