About the Artist

Born Peter Max Finkelstein in Germany on Oct. 19, 1937, pop artist Peter Max studied Realism at the Art Student’s League in New York, rocketing to fame in the '70s with his signature vivid colors and cartoon-like astronomical images. His subjects have ranged from President Obama and the Dalai Lama to the Statue of Liberty; he once even painted a design on a Continental Airlines Boeing 777. Max has been the official artist of five Super Bowls, several Grammy Awards presentations and a host of other major events. www.petermax.com.
